I remember a time now past
When I was young and strong
Of  going to a quiet peaceful wood
And walking there alone

Among the mighty trees of oak
That gently swayed in the wind
Watching a leaf float down the creek
And then disappear around the bend

Listening to a song so pleasant
Being sung by a singer dressed in feathers
His stage a branch made of wood
In a tree old and aged and weathered

In my memory those days are treasured
Of walking upon the woods hidden sod
Finding I never was there alone
For in the wood walked also God
