The scars are too deep
I'm hurting all the time
I have no practice any more
as time asks me why

My idiosyncrasies
this fight to the bitter end
as I call you poet
and one of my dear friends

I have gone past the point of care
why should I be subjugated to others rules
I play my cards face down
as I was trained to do

Oh this sweet slumberous time
as I drink white wine
just to kiss you my love
with one off the wrist

I have dragged my own from the battle fields
and truly loathe battle mode
but honour and my devotion calls me
for God's sweet sake I do obey

All are intact and battle worn
as we were from the day we were born
the clash of Titans now does begin
with all the will I have, we will win
