The Five Senses
We always kiss in
the dark, scared to
know if we keep
our eyes open
instead, I take in
(smell)
the scent of your
aftershave, mulling
like wine, into
my neck,
(taste)
a cigarette, taken
with coffee,
(hear)
the sound of
your teeth
clicking against
my teeth,
(feel)
the sweep of
your tongue
filling my
cavities
the movement
of four
embraces me
and in that blindness
my heart beats,
faster, as if
fierce love is as
simple as
darkness
