Onomatopoeias
They are setting up camp
On the tip of my tongue
Sarcastic tooth fillings
Profanity coats my gums
My lips chapped from social phobias

I fill the empty spaces of the conversation with senseless banter

I avoid the waiting faces
Making no eye contacts
Trying to come up with a response

What would you say we are?
Acquaintances?
Strangers?
Aliens?
Or friends?

Trying to give off a certain vibe

On the listens, smiles and invites

I don’t know you
You don’t know me
But that doesn't mean I’m not interested
Small talk is an obvious front
