I wish, I wish
upon a shooting star
that one, up there
the bright one...
the North star
there's one next to it
blazing through the sky
(I trace its path with spiritual eyes)
wondering about the many lives
it's heard whispering heartfelt pleads
to bring back life through miraculous deeds
beggars of souls
regretfully buried
in carved out holes
from bombs, and shells
a senseless hell..
wishing, wishing...
praying for peace
to end all of the blood shed in the Middle East
I am here
you are there...
(you feel as though nobody cares)
Can you hear me from up there?
I hear you down here
while everything's falling,
falling
tumbling down..
there's so much fear
We're running for shelter
on rumbling ground...
as I say goodbye to a shooting star
I am..
wishing, wishing
praying for peace
for all the souls
buried in shrouds
in neat little rows
like sweet little clouds
your soul’s now part of the North Star
little voices sing for peace
(sweet dreams little cherubs from the East)
You want to tell them
you’ll come back
in another time
when everyone's kind
embracing all of mankind
and though we’re all down here
and you are up there...
I know you exist everywhere.
