You dance , as a child.
You sung, as a child.
You cheer up many during the Depression.
And among millions you left an impression.

You dance with Bojangle.
Make the steps appears easy.
You was a joy to many.
With your bright curly hair.
And you was to many known , as Shirley Temple.

Your sweet sounding voice that showcase your smile.
Made many fans alike come to adore you as a child.

You wouldn't have been you.
If you didn't sing a song in the movies.
You let us into your private life without it been an intrusion.
Which it probably was.
But as a child maybe your parent did or didn't care.
But to the world, you was a star.
One we came to adore Miss Shirley Temple.

We all will pass on to a greater place.
Except your movies will forever leave a smile upon someone face.
A honor to you.
A honor with grace and good taste.
