For the Living Dead
Close your eyes
Listen to your heartbeats go slowly
It is but a slow countdown
And there are no lies
No lies, when you close your eyes
Set inside
That human part
The clockwork that is taken apart
Though the gears never melted
And the storms that never settled
Your blood sleeps
Through the days and nights
Cold and dead
Waiting to burn bright
Once said he
A great humane being
Listening to the countdown
And all the truth
All because he closed his eyes
"That wars may come
And wars may go
But my soldiers, they remain eternal
And always have done so"
Place your dreams
In the graves
As you have done forevermore
Though the lights haven't all gone out
Though the darkness hasn't won out
