Feb 2014
we were a whirlwind,
and everyone knew -
i was pale skin, cold bones
to your trembling frame;
teary eyed and warm,
they used to warn me of you
but i sang your praises anyway.

"breathe," you say
and i do, i do, i did
inhale every spark of you
exhaled my own dark,
they used to warn me of you
but i sang your praises anyway.

oh, how i should have listened.
