Been too long since I've been gone,
Didn't think I had a reason to return for,
Thought I'd be fine within,
Concealing it underneath my skin

Turns out it isn't just that easy,
To leave it all behind,
No, the mundane wasn't enough,
To help preserve that fragile bluff

Went on walking I did though,
Cause' life won't be waiting for me to be fine,
It wouldn't be too long before,
I lay incapable of singing the song of mine

Then you came like a hue of happiness,
Reminded my heart of that caress,
No, I didn't have to run no more,
I had some to return home for

You gently asked where I'd been,
Choked out words - I.... poured you in
Wrote this for someone who has loved me more than anyone I know. I am sorry I left her. I shouldn't have. I won't ever again.
