Your city slick
Your sidewalk stomp
Does nothing for my gutter heart
You dig deep with sticks and spoons
But bones wheren't made to be broken
I've got as far ahead as I can see
With layers of your haze in front of me
Keep on walking
Tender aged with dry cut throat
Haloed lights bleeding into the murky night
These trash can fires
Burn funeral pyres
Leaking ashes of forgotten dreams
Leave your flowers at my door
She doesn't live here any more
Raced through her arm
Chewing up memories
Until she was a shell

*I can still hear her ocean
We all could make better choices.
