Deck the halls in paint and pastels
Steal the nurses' hours of sleep.
Watch your heart-beat on the monitor,
Hear the slow, incessant beep.
Look away from other patients,
Say that you're the lucky ones.
Welcome to the childrens' ward, kids.
We'll convince you this is fun.
Ask the doctors how they're doing!
Take your wheelchair for a drive!
And hidden there's the IV forest,
For those that aren't quite as alive.
