"it is better to have loved
and lost" as they would like to say
but no wise words can stop the ache
this aggravating pain.

to not have loved would be to not have known
what could be taken away.
not to long for his movement, his touch
the smile that spreads across his face.

"it is better to have loved and lost"
but i have lost everything.
except his picture in my mind
that visits in my dreams.
