Don't send me any you love me by e-mail.
When you can phone me.
Just to hear your voice leaves a better impression.

Don't even send me a you love letter.
When you can tell me.
Why kiss a piece of paper.
When I can kiss your lovely lips.

Now, don't get me wrong.
I appreciate the gesture whole heartedly.
But I always believe in being a people person.

Notice the way folks today talk to you for awhile.
Then get on computers and tell it all.
I just don't want your l love you sent this way.
When you can tell me.

Cause then I be looking in your eyes.
And I can see your smile.
Then you can see mine.
When I say, I love you.
