You told me to be there, you
gave me a time
and a place
and a hope
of escape.
I waited for you
so long. Among
the grimy halls and hard
metal chairs and all those
who had long ago given up
their faith.
But I, I stood
tall and I believed
that you would notice
that I am
different, not like
the rest.
You called me
in and you
spat me out with
a new identity to
limit me and hold
me back.
I am now
Only
72.
