Cooking Will Go (Asparagus)
When the asparagus stalks walked
straight out the fields of snow
I knew there was no tomorrow
and my life was in utter sorrow
I heard the trumpets call
saw the stairway open wide
and I betrayed the sword
for I looked with eyes by the side
God I will miss their green
those ones that went well
with roast potatoes and others
especially when cooked by mother
But I will wait as they go
and hope they walk slow
for I will pluck them up
and a cooking I will go
