The Black Rose
Blackened petals, softly fall
within the crystal glass case
that forms my chest wall
deathly petals rest, at its base
The wilted rose of my soul
passionless, dark as night
droops, into my empty hole
a beauty forever lost from sight
Lifeless petals, slowly enclose
this symbol of love held inside
my lonely weeping rose
tied within my soul, has died
Until a true love is felt
silken petals, are unable to spread
the fragrance of beauty never smelt
my black rose never to bloom, a vivid red.
