Dec 2013
I can feel the blistering heat on the back of my neck
I look at the ground and contemplate letting go of my tears
Instead I walk away
The clouds float over head
Calling my name
“Where are you going?”
The sun turns red and the night comes
Traveling to the cavern, the caves
Watch your step
Ancient mysteries linger here
As do snakes and lizards
Let go of everyone and everything they will be fine
But do hold them dear
The medicine man looks me deep in the eye
I know what is coming and so does he
A period of darkness and insanity
Insanity is the outcome of being blind and not knowing where to go
All security and assurance dissipated
All homes and relationships dilapidated
And I, alone in a dark cave in the desert before this huge wave of pain crashes on to our shore
What am I to do?
