Did it hurt when you walked in
and saw your lover
and your friend
in the bed that you had pledged
silent promises to one another in
Did it hurt when your mother called
and told you that something happened
and you need to get home right now
because your sibling isn't okay
Did it hurt when your first pet
took its last breath
and you couldn't cry
because it hadn't hit you yet
that death came so quickly
Did it hurt when you fell from grace
Did you bruise?
Sometimes it hurts enough to make you weep
But I didn't weep
Did you?
