The hero lays his sword in defeat
by the blood of friends by his feet
he now is in shock, a shadow
a shadow of humankind

But from this, a light shines
a light of kindness not hate
he tells me to fight no more
tells me to rest in peace

He tells me it's ok to cry
he tells me it's ok to fear
and you know what....
I saw his light and kindness

No matter the war
no matter the hate
rise above it
and reach the light
