I remember the hot summer days
When I’d spend every minute
Talking to you
But those sunny days weren’t as hot
As our love dates for two

I remember when I was everything you wanted
And the only thing you needed
To put a smile on your face
And the times when you’d miss me
Even if I was away shortly

I remember how good I felt
Knowing you felt the same way
I still drift away from reality
To just relish in a brief flashback
Recalling how lovely of an arrangement it was

I remember how you used to lean on me
And call on me for comfort and solace
It made me feel so powerful
And loved and appreciated
I wouldn’t trade it for anything

I remember when you thought I was yours
For the taking, forever
How I wish you’d take me now
And still think of me as your love
And even as your soulmate

I remember your words to me
And how much you cared
And how deeply you loved me
It was so magical and so rare
I was so happy, you took me there

And I remember when it ended
When my heart crushed not in two
But in a thousand pieces
Scattered everywhere, some are missing
Now I can’t put it all together again
Do you remember?
