You should share
knowing that we'll never get there,
but
isn't sharing halving the disappointment?

We will not see the great epiphany
and there'll be no rapture
no screams of delight
all that we'll have will be the endless night.

Giving it all to charity?
why would we
or should we,
could we not keep it all?

It's the coffee that keeps me going
and knowing that we'll never get there

still trying
vying for the front row
putting on a good show
and hoping for the best.
