met a girl in memphis on a christmas night
snow was falling down pure and so white
walked in to a bar saw her sitting there
with her bright blue eyes long blonde flowing hair

she came and sat with me  we talked for a while
such a lovely face such a lovely smile
country band was playing a good ole country song
asked her for a dance we both danced along

put my arms around her squeezed and held her tight
dancing cheek to cheek we danced away the night
we danced all night long to  a country song
to the country  band we both danced along
