Somewhere along the way
Remained the little kid
Afraid
Sustained
Defiance
In the face of evil
Nonetheless
Invade
Its wealthy bastions
Deepest passions
It’s subservience’s status
In its state of constant panic
Imitate
Its ***** habits
For the palace
That was promised
In the years of propaganda
Stayed a fantasy
Illusory
A loser’s memoranda
So forgive me
If in victory
I still feel sorely missed
When all they taught me was
An infantile
Ignorance is bliss
