When She Died
She folds her white gown
she will not need it any more
the voice that sung so sweetly
now walks with her shadow
She sees our children crying for her
she feels their love like blessings
then she thinks of my promise to her
that I would never leave her side
Her fall into winters arms
was quick and merciful
a mother of grand gestures
and love monumental
Blowing kisses of goodbye
she starts to float and then to fly
I follow her light so kind so pure
as I told her I would meet her
when she died
