The light streams through the window
as she curls up in a corner of the room
the rose that he gave her
has turned vacant and wilts

The rain beats wicked on the windows
running water down the panes
like her make up so smudged
tearful pain running down her face

This cold winter rain
the tap tap tap
beats in her heart
she is lost, and that is that
