Aug 9
after all, all that's here
is a certain death, the end of my days
i can lean only on the moon
to follow me through the years

the smoke rises, and dissolves
on it's way to her light
this shiny orb, lit by the sun
from somewhere far away

after all, all that's certain
in this loneliness,
under these exploding stars
is her soft glow, that lit the faces
of millions of lovers,
years and years ago
up until now

please,
embrace me,
put your arms around me
don't be like the sun,
always just out of reach,

but persistently in the background
somewhere, somewhere,
far away
hurting me with
blades of yellow light
that falls on the overgrown graves
of long forgotten lovers,
who once, together,
gazed at my lovely moon

after all,
one day, we'll return to dust
particles and energy,
but i don't want to leave your side
though i know this cannot
last forever,
for we must die

after all, all that i can count on
is a gentle moon amongst the clouds
whispering "hello",
once we reach the sky
