Move to kneel.
Because I feel
The words you hear
Are very clear:

“No refuge could save
the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight,
or the gloom of the grave”

The British recruited slaves
With the promise to save
After the treaty of peace
America demanded their release

Key is too dead to explain
But I will proclaim
He was a man of his day
He got labor without pay

Not so much a patriotic refrain
But an expression of pain
For those slain
By the ones he would chain
