Poems
May 11
They named him George H.W Bush.
A babe's cry is heard
To the country club elite
They named him George Bush.
He told his mother.
I’m off my game today.
His mom laughed at him.
She said please stop it.
You just need to be better.
You don’t have a game.
He was the elite.
Went to boarding school and Yale.
Then World War 2 came.
Bush went to go serve.
He enlisted in the Navy.
His plane was shot down.
Swam until rescue.
He was saved by submarine
For another day.
He came back to Yale.
Loved baseball and sports.
Then went to Texas.
He lost his daughter.
Then raised a big family
People said to run.
He worked his way up.
To be second to Reagan.
Then his chance came too.
He became president.
Bush helped to end the Cold War.
Then recession came.
Bush turned to a friend
He was sad in his diary.
Hopeful for this land.
He was a great man.
Bush aided this land so much.
As the country’s best.
