This spaceship is useless
And your out of this world
Stuck on this godforsaken rock
Marooned five years without my girl
Couldn’t find the fuel to blast off
So I’m sending out a message
In a hope that help will come
And if someone finds my wreckage
They’ll know I loved someone.

Calling planet earth
I’m just a mortal man
Can you please tell my woman
I did all I can
Calling planet earth
Do you believe in love?
Can you please tell my lover
I did all I could
Skimmed the stars
That we saw in the sky
I’ve never seen beauty like her aye.

Space food is tasteless
I got freeze dried heartache
Energy is critical my oxygen is low
Every photo of her is my keepsake
I seen our own sun with its dim glow
If you hear this it’s probably too late
I hope I did you all proud
In centuries you’ll know my fate
Captains log, Large Magellanic Cloud.

Calling planet earth
I’m just a mortal man
Can you please tell my woman
I did all I can
Calling planet earth
Do you believe in love?
Can you please tell my lover
I did all I could
Skimmed the stars
That we saw in the sky
I’ve never seen beauty like her aye.
