The desert sky at night is something to behold
so finely laced with diamonds, silver and gold
and the gentle glow of the moon
makes shadows of the dunes

Here I sit in the cooling night air
the fire I had lite burns furiously
I watch the sparks meet the sky
just for a moment I see your beautiful face

To the stars I need to go to see you again
for I am lonely in this cold unforgiving place
I need to get back to the ship of heroic dreams
back to the place where I first met you

I want to wipe away your tears
tell you how much I love you
oh this inhospitable place
my lonely desert nights
