We don’t make time for one another;
We save that time for our regrets.
We chase the silence, not each other—
The present slips while sorrow sets.

Then casts its shadow over all;
Its secrets cling, too deep to free.
We don’t live now, we heed its call—
As if now was never ever meant to be.
