Sweet curls of lazy dreams
wafting above my head,
whispering in hush-toned sighs,
spun from longing, soft as thread.

A wistful lover’s kiss unfolds,
in blushing pinks and shades of green,
a blue cloud dancing merrily,
through silent spaces in between.

Twirling in the amber mist,
a lullaby the night has spun,
a dance undone, yet just begun,
adrift beneath the waking sun.

And oh, they tickle through my mind,
like ribbons on the breeze they fly,
a playful wink, a twist, a turn
then vanish with a soft goodbye

and my heart follows.
