Etymology
Where education ends,
curiosity, should begin.
The former is but a brief
introduction to the latter.
For some it’s not sequential
no entrée no amuse bouche.
How does one write for those
who are unable to understand.
I can imagine illiteracy, as in
not being able to read Sanskrit.
James Joyce learned Norwegian
solely to read Ibsen’s “Peer Gynt”.
Edward Fitzgerald learned Persian
to read Omar Khayyam’s Rubaiyat.
But the etymology of ignorance is
not caused by stupidity, it’s neglect.
