One thinks of flint
or the Dodgems
or railway lines
or a falling star.

Nobody strikes
matches anymore
cars have no plugs
don’t backfire either.

There are no forges
or no blacksmiths
even flashes in the
have become rarities.

Sparks are almost
obsolete superfluous
surplus to requirements
except in Hollywood.
