I’ve known kindness
A hand griping mine and pulling me up from a fall
A person to turn to who does not judge, only there to help
Until the call came that they were gone

I’ve known friendship
Lifelong and a bond stronger than between siblings
No event, no distance could separate us.  Lonesome but never alone
Until the call came that they were gone

I’ve Known love
Kindred spirits, Souls joined in a rebirth
We made a home and a family, The future we would face hand and hand
Until the call came that they were gone

Now I am alone
I’ve stayed too long at the party and still can’t leave
I stand awkward, head sunk into my shoulders and my feet rooted to the ground
No one awaits a call about me
