Your words, a gentle breeze that soothed my soul
Promises of forever, that made my heart whole
But like a summer's storm, your truth began to fade
Leaving me shattered, with a love that's been betrayed

In the mirror's gaze, a reflection stares
A fool who believed, in the love that you shared
The memories we made, now tainted with deceit
A heart that's broken, by the love lies you repeat

Your touch, a flame that burned with passion's fire
But behind your eyes, a secret desire
To manipulate and control, with every whispered lie
A heart that's manipulated, until it says goodbye

Yet, even in the ashes, a lesson can be found
To trust my instincts, and never again be bound
By the chains of love lies, that seek to deceive and harm
A heart that's wiser, and stronger, to love and to disarm.
