O sovereign Lord, I seek your face
I wish to walk your walk
Would like to know what you see and hear
I would like to share, please
Your soft voice as you talk.
Your waterfalls  so clear

I can imagine a hovering hawk
An enormous breaching whale
Her mighty lungs breathe rainbows
She has starlight on her tail.

The great tusks of an elephant
The slender throat of swans
The fragrance of a blood red rose
The blue Kentucky lawns
Soft fur of an ermine
The melting eyes of fawns

But these things are all fleeting
The petals of the flower
The ticking toc of a second hand
Clocks quickly sound the hour

God has no beginning
He'll never have an end
His time on earth
Was 33 years short
But the veil had to rend!

If I told of our Lord's pain
Would you lend your ear?
If I told about His death
You wouldn't shed a tear.

I decided to break up rhyme and meter. Let me know how you like that.
