Battle frighten soldier
Sweet garden rose
Rifle fire everywhere
In soil nothing grows.
Battle frighten soldier
Afternoon with tea
Shrapnel flying everywhere
Horrendous can’t you see.
Battle frighten soldier
Ice cream with blackberries
Shattered bodies everywhere
Let’s drink and all be merry.
Battle frighten soldier
Absurdity of war
Chocolate cake and daffodils
All dead upon the floor
Battle frighten soldier
Wrapped in cotton wool
Minds have been shredded
We’ve been taken all for fools
Battle frighten soldier
Singing songs of glee
There’s only death in war
Im of to hug a tree.
