joey was a disabled boy who relied on his wheel chair
to get around.  oneday  his wheelchair broke down
and he began to cry  now he couldnt get around
his mum gave him a cuddle then took the chair to be fixed

when she got there  she asked for a replacement
till they fixed the chair. the man in the garage
said the only one we have is an old one
covered in dust in the corner
she took the chair home till the other  one was fixed

joey began to dust the chair in his bedroom. when something magical happened.
the chair it came to life took him on a journey to a park
where disabled kids could play in a magic land so very far away
there were roundabouts. slides and a lot of swings
that disabled kids could play on and lots of different things

he was very happy the wheelchair had made his day
took him to a land  where disabled kids could play
the wheelchair took joey home no one ever knew
about the magic powers and things the chair could do

when joeys chair was fixed his mum she took it home
put the old chair back in his corner.  to gather dust once more
she thanked the man for fixing the chair.  joey could now get
around again.

hoping maybe oneday the magic chair will be used again
to help other disabled kids with its magic powers
take them to the park for disabled children
where they can have lots of fun just like other kids

this story was published by the bbc in the seventies
it had illustrations  to which were lost
it also had a cassette tape recording
was my first published work
