Sacrifice
Words unspoken
Discipline power
Hour after hour
Tormented morning, noon and night
Moments at every length
Bitterness and anger
Rebel thoughts
Pain until blood torn
Wounds with ashes like scratches of scorns
Separation parted
Education with knowledge not
Prayers to heaven for a revelation
Music and Dance in praise
Plantation fed up
Slavery full of Slattery
Year after year
How much longer?
Finally, Freedom mounts
The years to count
The sound of freedom that was
Heaven’s rebirth into a new nation.
