sea song
Love cannot swim.
I know this because I am drowning,
breath shallow, voice hollow
blackness, blackness.
My heart is an anchor in the sea that is you,
waves crashing to the beat of your voice.
You are in the water, murky blue -
green in the colours of our memories,
in the sea foam forming bubbles
pops; echo your laughter,
your songs, your warmth.
Years, years,
they say time heals all wounds.
Appendages fail; cut rose
petal fall, blood stained call
In you, the sea only grows deeper;
heart suffocating in wounds unhealed,
stories untold.
