All Floridians have experienced the horror of witnessing piles of dead neighbors killed by hurricanes accumulating on top of storm-drain grates only to see gangs of blood-thirsty alligators rip the corpses to pieces. It's a rite of passage. One story that tugged at my heart strings was that of Judy Martin, a fat teen with nothing to live for. It was a steamy-hot day as another mega-deadly hurricane sped towards Florida. "Hide Judy!" Her mother screamed as an alligator plucked her off the toilet. Later, after Judy was dug out from 900 tons of hurricane rubble, several deadly snakes bit her while she ate a doughnut. Fortunately, she's okay.
