It's always the ninth,
the ninth hole
the ninth grade
the ninth life,
and then
sometimes when you've made
the right decision
and
taken the right path
it
gives you the last laugh.

Dead ends like split ends
end in what tends to be
catastrophes,
someone shouts, apostrophes,
I don't think he means a Greek
philosopher,
