Tempus Desisto
It was yesterday the village
clock stopped, midday too,
such a slow tolling angelus.
Curfew, funeral knell, there
can be explanation, but I'm
certain it was superstitious.
When today finally came, we
had zero time for the present,
the horologist did, tomorrow!
