If We Irish Can
George Bernard Shaw
"Cells never forget".
(Pain* before empathy)
is a well proven equation.
This is why our Celtic
nation is understanding,
it is why we recognise
plight and also Palestine.
Tell me this, how could
Jews forget the 1945 (pain*)
this quickly, considering,
we Irish vividly recall 1847.
William Butler Yeats
"Peace comes dropping slow".
Slow enough to reach out and
grasp it, but not with closed fists!
Ps
A Prayer in poetry for peace
between Muslim and Jew, it
can be achieved, just as we Irish
and the British embraced the
Good Friday Agreement.
Forgive, lest we forget,
for what?
