There was a girl I know,
With her sea-green eyes.
Who once said to me
"Beware the wolf, for the wolf lies"

"Don't fear the sheep that bleats,
But fear the one that hides
For it may be the wolf hunting,
With its disguise"

"But don't fret for the whispers,
You hear in the light.
For they can't hurt you,
When it is bright"

"The wolf is smart and cunning,
But do not reply.
When he asks you to follow him,
Into paradise"

"But the wolf will fear love,
The wolf will fear right.
For even the darkness,
Won't hide its demise"

"So don't be afraid,
Of the wolves that will just pass by
For you'll find your shelter,
In a love that doesn't lie"

But love, like wolves, can change its form,
And hearts can shift like skies.
Still, I’ll trust her gentle gaze,
Those deep sea-green eyes.
