It was Tuesday, the twenty-seventh of August, and you were hidden
behind a bush but I could still see you without my binoculars just
fine. I called to you but you were hard-of-hearing because your
great uncle died in Vietnam in 1968 while eating a cookie
in the jungle near a swamp. I prayed for you for 5
years and then I paid someone else to do it.
