Lend me your ears
. Expansion joints on
rails, do for wheels,
what cobblestones
will, to horse shoes.
Rat a tat rat a tat tat
is the equivalent of
clip, clop, clip, clop,
that’s onomatopoeia.
Dry saliva, teeth of
steel, growl, groan,
growl groan one can
hear a saw dog bark.
Or a frozen cat being
sliced in a band saw
has an audibly distinct
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeow.
Iron horse approached
and the stallion reared,
territorial nickering to
******* the mares.
