What?
it's at least an hour before breakfast
the sun might rise before then.

There is something in the way it wanes
that freezes the blood within my veins,

The evening song.

she is the lover that leaves me bereft
and suddenly
the night has left and daylight comes
we sing again.

But wait!
it's Wednesday he said in dismay
or maybe that was last may
and
now it's September,

this may hurt and it probably did.
