You're what I deserve

by brianna-5

You are cold water rushing over my head threatening to drown me or freeze my lungs with salt water... whichever sounds more painful. You are cold hands wrapped around my neck and black eyes that stand out for longer than a week. You're those hot summers full drought and there is no water anywhere in sight leaving me parched, begging for death. You're the last dance and the lack of kiss goodnight. You're the bad taste in my mouth as I silently keep begging for more because like one of my favorite novels told me once we accept the love we think we deserve.
